This week, it’s Horatio Hetfield, bard extraordinaire, played by The Ringer who as always, is a natural one in our hearts. Here’s Horatio in his own words:

I like to think of Horatio as a musical wanderer. He doesn’t stick to a single style, rather he lets inspiration take him down whatever path it may. Horatio’s playlist is in two parts: first we have the songs about his life and then his spell discography. In my mind Horatio has penned most of these songs from experiences he’s had or while learning new spells. Some liberties have been taken with some of the spell lyrics to make them more suitable to the situation Horatio uses them in.

Life:

The Unforgiven by Metallica
They dedicate their lives
To running all of his
He tries to please them all
This bitter man he is

Originally a song of his father’s, Horatio identifies with the meaning all too well. His father pushes Horatio to be just like him, while completely missing that he’s repeating the mistakes of his own father.

Bad Company by Bad Company
Bad Company, and I can’t deny
Bad Company, ‘Til the day I die

Bad Company, was a military group turned mercenary band. The second, and slightly more stable, family that Horatio became a part of. This band of merry misfits gave Horatio a chance to spread his wings and broaden his musical horizons. Had it not been for the song of Torm, he may still be adventuring with them now.

Torn by Natalie Imbruglia

Horatio still isn’t sure if he came up with this melody, or if it was given to him by Torm himself. He never had time to write lyrics to his version of Torm. All he really knows is that it is how he was teleported through the planes and brought into the lives of the Tasty Boyz.

Come Sail Away by Styx
I look to the sea, reflections in the waves spark my memory

This was written in the time after meeting the Tasty Boyz. Horatio was still getting used to being in a new world, and he still yearned for the comfort and safety of his old friends. He knows he cannot go back just yet, and looks forward to adventuring with the Tasty Boyz.
